We hope you have a blast with our slingshot. This is what you can expect from us and also what we expect from you.

1. Communication – Let’s stay in contact regarding your needs, plans, questions, issues and concerns before, during and after your experience. 

2. Care – We strive to take great care of our slingshot and expect you to as well.

– No Racing / Track driving / burnouts

– No alcohol / smoking / controlled substances (including vaping).

– Drive carefully, safely, legally and responsibly

Your booking is a request that must be confirmed by Western Carolina Slingshot Rentals. It is not a guarantee of availability until it has been confirmed by us.

Generally a reservation is per day. Alternatives might be availalbe so please contact us about your specific situation.

Some dates may require multi-day reservations. Those may not be detailed on the calendar in the booking system, but I will notify you prior to confirmation if your request cannot be accommodated or has different requirements.

Our Slingshot is for safe, enjoyable adventures around western North Carolina and surrounding areas. Do NOT drive recklessly, race, speed, or drive this unit on a track or offroad

Performance monitor is in place to track abuse. We will check tire tread before/after to determine excessive wear. Feel free and give it some juice here and there, but please, do not burn out or race!

Please, help us keep this unit ready for everyone to enjoy.

There is to be no smoking, tobacco, or alcohol in this ride (Cigarettes, Cigars, Weed, Vaping, E-Cigs, etc.) An additional $150 cleaning fee will be assessed if this rule is violated.

Eye Protection – Driver and passenger must wear eye protection (sunglasses or other goggles are fine). No eye protection is provided.

Helmets – It is best/safest for driver and rider to wear a DOT approved helmet. Some people may tell you it’s not necessary. Ultimately, it depends on where you are and how law enforcement interprets the current law. We recommend always wearing a helmet in the slingshot. Some helmets are available to rent but you may want to provide your own for a perfect fit or style.

Fuel – please return the Slingshot with a full tank of premium fuel. There are gas stations within about 5 miles of the pickup/drop-off point in either direction. If you choose not to refuel before returning the slingshot, a $50 refueling fee will be charged.

This Slingshot is a road vehicle and should not be taking off road. Traction control should be left activated. Try to avoid gravel roads and driveways whenever possible. If you do have to travel on gravel or dirt or loose material, please be careful and drive slowly to avoid flinging rocks.

Mechanical failure is any possibility with vehicle caused by normal usage, it does not include flat tires, broken levers caused by tip over, or any issue caused by the renters operation or due to possession of vehicle which may result in an additional fee. In the event of unprovoked mechanical error, and at the sole discretion of the owner, arrangements will be worked out on a case by case basis.

You are completely responsible for any accident, incident, damage, ticket, citation and excessive wear.

I may choose to cancel the trip at any time, for any reason. The terms, fees and details are subject to change without notice prior to any confirmed booking. All pricing is subject to change without notice (except for confirmed reservations) regardless of existing marketing brochures or information that may be 

How old do I have to be to drive? – 21 with a valid drivers license. You must also be accepted by TURO as a driver and be listed as a driver on the reservation with TURO.

How old do passenger riders need to be? – State laws where you are driving will dictate legal age of riders. Always follow state laws. Do not use a child car seat or booster seat in the Slingshot! We recommend ages 8 and up and that all riders and drivers wear eye protection and helmets.

Do you rent overnight? – Yes, our standard listed rates cover up to 24 consecutive hours including overnight.

Do you rent shorter than 24hrs? – Sometimes. Because we have to make special arrangements for price etc in the TURO system, please contact us ahead of time to discuss the details and we can customize the booking details for you to select. 

Where can we leave our car while we drive the Slingshot? – You are welcome to leave your vehicle parked in our parking lot. While we do not anticipate any issues, we do not provide any security nor accept liability for your property.

Can you deliver and pickup the Slingshot for me? – Yes, we can possibly deliver the Slingshot to you depending on your location and the details of your request. This will incur one or more additional charges depending on options chose (ie: refuel and cleaning in addition to pickup/delivery)

Do I have to wear a helmet? – It is recommended that driver and rider wear a helmet and eye protection at all times.  Always follow state helmet laws. Helmet laws differ by state and depending on where you ride, some law enforcement may interpret helmet and autocycle laws differently.

Where should I ride? – There are  great riding routes all around Western North Carolina. A quick google search may be your best bet for details but be sure to check out Deals Gap – Tail of the Dragon, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Then widen your search by town such as Maggie Valley, Bryson City, Dillsboro, Franklin, Fontana, Cherokee County, Robbinsville,  Cherokee, Waynesville, Asheville, Black Mountain.

Do you provide helmets? – We have half shell helmets of several different sizes available. For specific style or fit you may wish to provide your own. Polaris recommends full face helmets. We recommend always wearing a helmet and eye protection.

Can I rent for someone else? – No. ALL driver(s) must be listed as drivers on the reservation with TURO. The reservation creator is considered the primary driver and MUST be present at pickup and return. You can add drivers (up to 6 currently) to the Turo reservation by following the prompts in Turo, either before or after making the reservation as long as it’s done before your trip begins.

 Do you offer roadside assistance? – We  strongly recommend that you have roadside assistance through AAA or other another service. Depending on your options chose with Turo, they may provide roadside assistance. We will try to assist if you contact us but may not be available instantly. Remember that you are completely responsible for the vehicle during your trip.

 Do you offer a shuttle service? – (as opposed to delivering the vehicle to you) While we are not guaranteed to be available for such a request, we might be available to pick you up and bring you to the meeting point to rent the Slingshot. Likewise, we might be available to return you to a particular location. This depends on timing, location and availabiltiy and will incur a fee. You may need to use Uber or Lyft.

 How long can I rent it for? – Depending on availability, you can rent our slingshot for up to 30 days. Special cases may require some work on the booking form so please let us know about any long term request before booking.

 Can I make changes to my reservation? – Yes. While we are unable to make adjustments to your reservation details, YOU as the renter may go into the Turo system and make changes to the options, drivers, dates and times – any change you make to a confirmed reservation will be limited by availability and must be reconfirmed by WC Slingshot Rentals. Please send us a message (in Turo, preferably) about any changes.
